My journey as a physical therapist started out as an 8 year old club swimmer in Glendale, CA. By the age of 10, I was swimming 2 practices a day - up to 5 hours a day in the pool. It was then that I decided that I wanted to swim in a Division 1 NCAA program.
When I was 14, I partially tore one of his rotator cuff muscles in a race. I bounced around multiple different physical therapists who prescribed me the same rotator cuff strengthening program. 6 weeks later, I was still having pain in my shoulder and had not returned to the water yet.
In a last ditch effort, my parents and I reached out to a swimming-specific physical therapist in Santa Clara who had worked with the USA national and olympic teams. He helped me with my shoulder and I went on to swim for UC San Diego.
It was then that I realized that it took someone who understood me and my journey to help me solve my shoulder pain. That is what I want to do for you: help you solve problems to reach your goals.

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Beth first found fitness when her dad took her running every week on the par course in Redwood Shores. He taught her how to do push-ups and pull-ups. In first grade, her favorite playground activity was swinging on the monkey bars. She loved all sports growing up, especially volleyball.
Beth’s college friend Tim Chan, now husband (and current Reason comp director), introduced CrossFit to her in 2012. It was so reminiscent of her high school basketball conditioning and running the par course with her dad that she was hooked.
A decade after getting her first L1 CrossFit cert and 3 years of physical therapy doctorate later, Beth’s following in her dad’s footsteps by teaching other people how to do pull-ups and push-ups, and how to move correctly. She provides elegant solutions to vexing problems like pain and injury, and still swings on bars for fun.
